1954 Chevy Bel air 2door
102,600 miles (subject to change as I pleasure drive)
3 speed on the column
Converted to 12 volts
Converted to Electronic Ignition
---------------------------------
A
LL BELOW WORK COMPLETED IN THE LAST 5 MONTHS / 3,000 MILES
---------------------------------
New voltage regulator, new battery, cap, rotor, coil, plugs, wiring and connectors replaced under the hood where necessary. Both front wire junction boxes replaced. Generator removed and recently tested strong. A new fan belt just added. All contacts to the starter were cleaned. Car amp meter shows a healthy charging system under load at all speeds.
Correct 1954 radio with new solid state internals; am/fm, aux input, 4 channel x 45 wat stereo with scanner and new dual cone stereo speaker mounted behind dash grill (manual for radio in glove box). The original antenna works well, an external window antenna was added for further reception of radio stations. You can use either antenna. This set-up retains the original look with a 1954 radio but with modern internals. The radio, conversion and duel cone stereo speaker was 0.
New interior dome light lens and the light works as it should. I added a glovebox light so when you open the box the light comes on at night. I just charged my phone from the cigarette lighter. New front parking/turn signal light lenses.Original wind-up clock keeps perfect time. Lasts a couple days on one full wind.I added a vacuum gauge and tachometer that can easily be removed if you wish.
The vacuum runs at a very healthy 20-25…. at optimum. No vacuum leaks. Fuel gauge is added because the original gauge stopped working. All other gauges on the dash work.Car runs at proper temperature. New radiator, thermostat, upper and lower radiator hoses, both heater hoses and new anti-freeze. I also replaced the both upper and lower oil filter hoses to the engine block.
Sound deadener was added to the interior floor-pans and a new carpet kit and padding were installed as well as a new rear window well package tray. The driver’s side sill plate to carpet is missing. The rear seat cover is in very good shape. The cover over the original front seats has tears. I am not sure the condition of the original seats. From what I can see without taking off the seat covers they are in good shape and appear to be original. Front harness type seatbelts and rear lap belt type seat belts were added. The door panels are complete but should be replaced. I have no idea why they are black and white, the answer to that is lost to history. The headliner is not sagging but is old with some stains. The metal dash is in good shape and all of the interior chrome is very nice.
The metal windshield wipers and rubber blades have been replaced with new period correct replacements. The climate control system and blower motor work fine. I did add a heater control valve under the dash that you will have to manually turn on and off in cold weather driving. It is well hidden and easy to get to. Turn it on in the fall and off in the spring. Heater flex hose under the dash replaced. All lights, low/high beams, turn signals, wipers, cigarette lighter and the horn function well. All doors, trunk and hood close/open and lock. All 4 windows work up and down. The driver’s side door hinge pins and bushings were just replaced last week. The door weather stripping on the passenger side is brand new. You will need to replace the weather stripping on the driver’s side door. Both the driver and passenger windows have a crack, I just drove it that way. The front and rear windshield are perfect with no cracks, chips or clouding.

The car appears to have been repainted its original color (Bermuda Green) many years ago. The trunk and undercarriage are in very good shape. Over all the body is very solid with some evidence of body work on the passenger side rear wheel well and a spot below the driver’s door (I am not a body specialist so I will do my best to show the undercarriage in the linked video). All the chrome molding is complete with some dings here and there. The Front Bumper has some sections of flaking, Rear Bumper is in excellent condition
--------------------------
This car starts immediately, runs beautifully and tracks down the road straight with no wobbling, shaking or slop in the steering wheel or front end. I put a lot of work, time and money into the car to get it as safe and reliable as possible. I have enjoyed many long cruises and just returned from a 120 mile trip in 95 degree weather from the beach.
--------------------------------
I
put 4 new tires on it about 2,000 miles ago.Extra keys and a clean and clear title in my name.
Car is being sold as-is where-is. I encourage you to have the vehicle inspected and I will help assist with loading the vehicle if needed.
