From a Connecticut Estate Auction comes this
1918 Kern County, Cal. CHILD ABDUCTION WANTED POSTER for 28 Year Old Eugenia Dupes & Her Two Children, 6 Year Old Bernard and 5 Year Old Janice.
The poster notes that “this is an aggravated case” and that the children are wards of the Juvenile Court. This 100+ year old 8 1/2” x 10 1/2” paper is in very good condition with minor roughness at the top and bottom right.
I have recently purchased an extraordinary book of over 100 wanted posters spanning the years from 1918/1919. So far, I don't have a clue as to where the book came from but perhaps it was part of an early agency which might have been on the lookout for wanted men and their rewards.
